2008/04/21 - A 4.0 MBA GRADUATE

The title says it all. As of about noon this afternoon, I finished my oral presentation and became a 4.0 MBA graduate. Very cool! Very good feeling. And, yes, I busted my ass and earned every bit of a 4.0.

As part of NMHU's MBA requirements, we complete the program with an oral presentation and defense of that presentation in front of a committee. My committee was composed of Dr. Margaret Young (Marketing), Dr. Jim Williams (Marketing) and Dr. Bill Taylor (VP for Finance and Administration, former Dean of the Business School). Instead of doing the traditional case study, I presented a business plan I authored at WTAMU in my first semester. Here's the link to the plan. It's a pretty cool concept but I have no interest in doing anything of the such. It was just an exercise.

Otherwise, it's nice to be done and it opens up some opportunities. I've already applied and I'm hoping to land an adjunct position at one of the local colleges. I think it would be good to teach a course or two prior to thinking about the Phd commitment (I'm thinking the Phd marketing programs at either CU or NMSU... fingers crossed). Also, I actually talked to a company last week about some opportunities and I always have my operation that can be grown rather easily.

But, for now, I'm done with my MBA. It's been such a nice and truly educating experience.
